First I turned this ottoman over and removed all the staples holding on the old material.
I saved the piece and cut a slit in the corners so it would lay flat.
I then laid it on my new material and cut the new piece the same size.
Next I positioned the ottoman onto my material making sure it was centered and the material even width on all sides. Using a staple gun I then stapled on the new material, making sure it was as taunt as possible without being stretched.
When I came to the corners I folded the extra material into two creases. Make sure the material in between the folds is taunt and the folds are as smoothly creased as possible.
After it was all stapled and held securely I used a razor to trim any extra material or stray threads. To stop fraying I put a little line of hot glue on the stapled edge of the material.
Et voila! I think I should spray it with some scotch guard to protect it from my kids, and me, and people in general. Life and white material don't mix well. But it's so pretty!
Have you ever reupholstered furniture? I would love to hear about it!
