What you will need:
- Plain coffee mugs
- OiL based Sharpie markers (permanent, non washable)
- Baking pan
- Scrapbooking stickers
This is an easy and fun craft. Scrapbooking stickers take the pressure off, and make it a fun, quick, tracing game :) The dot design is simple pointillism. I made these for my sister as a birthday present. It was actually her request. One of those hinted gift ideas. LoL :)
With the holidays around the corner, this is a great handmade gift for your loved ones. Here's what I did . . .
Wash and dry your mug. Next place your stickers on. Trace around them a solid line, then make dots close together next to the sticker and farther apart as you move away from sticker. Be very careful not to smudge your design. Wet marker smears easily!
When you are done with your design (remember to let dry first to avoid smearing) remove stickers and place on baking sheet. Place in a cold oven, set at 350 degrees. After 30 minutes, turn off oven. Don't remove till oven is cool.
A great place to find mugs is at the Salvation Army or other second hand store.
If you try this, be sure to send me a tweet of your finished product or post a picture on my Facebook page!
