Make A Jewelry Board

This is a neat idea I saw on T.V. It is a great way to display your jewelry, especially earrings, which are hard to keep track of in a jewelry box. At least for me. Somehow they end up in a jumbled mess and I can't find the pair. This eliminates the jumbled mess, and keeps everything displayed for fast finding. This is a very easy project that will organize and free up space in your jewelry box.

What you will need:

  • Foam board
  • 1 yard of Lace (or similar fabric)
  • Staples and Stapler or Hot Glue
  • Ribbon

I left my foam board at the original size. But you can trim it to any size if you would like it smaller. Another idea is to trim your board to fit in the back of a vanity cupboard.

Lay your fabric on a flat surface. Next, lay your foam board on top of the fabric. I found a board that had cork on one side. Cut around the foam board trimming the fabric an even 1 inch margin all around.  All that's left now is to glue or staple the edges of the fabric to the board. I used a Staple Gun with 10mm staples. Add a piece of ribbon if you want to be able to hang it. It also looks great propped on top of a dresser or vanity.

Your earrings can hang nicely on the fabric. Post earrings, latch-back earrings, or hook earrings all hang nicely on the lace. Just push them through the fabric and fasten the back.

Necklaces can hang from push pins.

Hope this idea helps you as much as it is helping me. I can finally find my jewelry easily, which speeds up my 'gettin ready' routine.
